Day 01: Arrive in Addis
Be met up on arrival and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Jupiter International Hotel or similar.
Day 02: Fly Addis – Bahir Dar
Be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bahir Dar. Be met up on arrival and transferred to the Hotel for check in. Later, you will take a boat trip on Lake Tana. It is the largest lake in Ethiopia with an area of 3600square kilometers. The lake hosts 37 islands and 29 monasteries, founded between 11th and 16th C. one of these monasteries, Ura Kidanemihret, established on a peninsula called Zege, about an hour by boat from Bahir Dar. Visit the 13th century Monastery with its very beautiful paintings and a priceless collection of crosses and crowns. In the Afternoon, you will drive to the village of Tis Isat to see the Blue Nile falls (please be informed that due to the newly constructed electric dam in the vicinity the water level of the falls could be very minimal). Overnight at Abay Minch Hotel or similar.
Day 03: Drive Bahir Dar – Gondar
After breakfast drive to Gondar sightseeing en route. Gondar is the town founded in 1636 by the great Emperor Fassiladas. Set in a landscape of the incomparable beauty, it was the Royal Capital of Ethiopia. Visit the castles and churches built by Emperor Fassiladas and his descendant. Later proceed to the fascinating Debre Birhan Selassie church (termed by UNESCO as one of the World’s heritages) its walls and sailings decorated with scenes of Biblical lore and medieval history. Overnight at the Taye Belay Hotel or similar.
Day 04: Fly Gondar – Axum
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Axum. Once the center of a great empire, and the seat of learning for the ancient Ge’ez language and literature, Axum is the prime historical site in the north of Ethiopia. Take a city tour that include the Stelae park, St. Mary’s Church, the sanctuary Chapel which is the repository of the ‘Ark of covenant’, the coronation yard, Tomb of Kaleb and his son Gebre Meskel, Ezana’s Inscriptions, Queen of Sheba’s Bath, Queen of Sheba’s palace ruins and Axum Museum. Overnight at the Consular Hotel or similar.
