Program Description
Tanzania Adventure Camping is a Standard Adventure Camping that involves visits to all the Major National Parks using Hotels and Lodges. There are optional extras such as Hiking on Mount Kilimanjaro via the chaga village Marangu, fling to the exotic Spice Island of Zanzibar and City & Cultural Tours. Day 1
An early departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Arrive at the park by mid morning – the day is spent game viewing. The park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Elephant herds and its proliferation of giant baobab trees. After your day in Tarangire drive to Karatu for overnight at campsite.
Day 2
Drive into Lake Manyara National Park and spend the day game viewing and spot the tree climbing lions that inhabit this area. This beautiful park is at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and comprises of forest, woodland, grasslands, and swamps. The large variety of mammals, reptiles and birds in the Park and the different types of vegetation, all within a small area make Lake Manyara a diverse and particularly memorable place to visit. Leave Lake Manyara in the afternoon and drive to Lake Eyasi Campsite.
Day 3
Visit the native people namely the Bushmen locally known as Hadzabe or Tindiga, The Hadzapi people lives on Lake Eyasi and is a an original hunter-gatherer population of Africa. Then the Taturu sometimes known as Mang’ati who still live in their traditional way. Then drive to Karatu, a small town just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation area, for overnight at campsite.
Day 4
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the crater and spend the full day touring one of the great natural wonders of the world. Visiting Ngorongoro crater is a must when visiting East Africa. Ngorongoro crater which is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The crater is 610 meters deep and 260 km squared and is a microcosm of scenery and game. Overnight at Ngorongoro Campsite.
